Easy, Precise Controls

Advanced heat pump technology combined with traditional electric elements make this new GeoSpring hybrid electric heat pump water heater the most efficient 50-gallon electric water heater you can buy. The standard porcelain-lined tank contains two electric heating elements and an anode rod like other water heaters. Above the tank, a compressor and evaporator are integrated into the electric water heater unit and the evaporator draws in ambient heat from surrounding air using two variable speed fans. Condenser coils wrap the tank all the way to the bottom to transfer this heat into the tank and heat the water.

Multiple settings meet a variety of needs
 eHeat™
Maximum savings. Most efficient. Water heater uses only the heat pump to heat the water.
 Hybrid
Energy saving with faster recovery times. Primarily uses heat pump with standard electric elements as back up during periods of higher demand.
 High Demand
Similar to Hybrid Mode. Control cycle of the electric heating elements can be preset to react and recover in times of higher demand.
 Standard
Shuts off the heat pump and only uses the electric elements to heat the water. Allows operation in extremely cold situations (< 45°F).
 Vacation
Save energy while maintaining freeze protection. Preset to recover to normal operation the day before you return.
Simple Maintenance Filter Cleaning
In the Hybrid, eHeat and High Demand modes, the water heater moves air through the system and out the back of the unit. An air filter is in place to protect the evaporator from accumulating dirt and dust. A clean air filter is important to get the highest efficiency. When the filter requires cleaning, a red indicator light above the "Filter" button will become illuminated, and an audible beep will sound. The filter can be wiped clean with a damp rag or rinsed with warm water.
