Companies and businesses with constant energy use, that are floating in the Day Ahead Market(DAM) are paying an average price for their power. This price does not reflect the fact that most of their power is consumed during off-peak hours.
For example, a supermarket can use up to 2/3 of its energy load in refrigeration. This means that 2/3 of its power is "on" 24/7, including nights and weekends when power is cheaper. The supermarket is paying too much for 2/3 of its power.
The SENTINEL is the solution to this loss. Its a product that allows a business to track the percentage of power that it uses during off-peak hours enabling the company to pay lower off-peak prices. The balance of the load, perhaps 1/3 of their energy requirement, is purchased in the fixed price market.
The combination of these two components (eg., 1/3 fixed and 2/3 Real-Time Pricing) will produce an overall savings of 10-15% of current electrical expenses. The SENTINEL enables companies to rein in power costs and manage an expense that is getting out of control.
