Manufacturing
Interior in Plant

The manufacturing process starts with the casting of the concrete floor. These 5-inch thick concrete floors are supported by cast and pre-stressed floor beams running the length of the floor system. The 6,000-lb cement mix is strengthened with the addition of a fiber mix and a specially designed reinforcing bar system. Cutouts are added to the floor system for water, sewer and any other openings that may be required in the floor system.

After curing, the concrete floor (slab) is lifted out of the casting form and the floor is moved to a building manufacturing station. A typical 14-ft x 45-ft floor weighs over 22 tons – without the building attached. Yes, it is a massive and extremely strong structure.

The next stage is the installation of the exterior walls and roof. Since our system utilizes ACTech structural steel insulated wall/roof panels no exterior studs or roof trusses are required. The walls and roof sections are pre-manufactured on compression tables, assuring exacting measurements and tolerances.

Once the building is shelled-in, the interior work begins, including galvanized steel interior stud walls, wall-board/sheet rock, electrical, HVAC, etc.

The structure is manufactured in the same manner, with the same materials and components, as conventional site built structures, but in a controlled factory environment assuring the highest degree of quality and final finish.

Our exterior surfaces are typically covered with Hardie sheet, Hardie plank or a synthetic stucco finish. Other exterior wall coverings are also available. Final finishing includes the painting of the exterior walls and the application of the final roof finish. The final roof application can include a standing-rib steel roof, a special roof system utilizing a rubberized membrane or other typical finishes (so long as they meet code for the structure).

Once the exterior is finished the structure is ready for delivery. Delivery is accomplished utilizing a specially designed dolly-wheel system and fifth wheel assembly. While the building is very heavy, the delivery mechanism permits for the delivery and installation of the building without the need for a crane (unless the building is being installed on an elevated structure or piers such as in costal applications).
