Proceeds to benefit Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary.

Eco-$mart presents a “Green Living” seminar and barbeque, with proceeds to benefit the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and care of big cats, providing shelter to cats confiscated by the state for illegal ownership, improper enclosures or maltreatment. They also educate the public to discourage illegal, private ownership of wild animals, especially big cats, that do not make good pets.

Having recently opened a regional office in Jacksonville, Eco-$mart representatives will be there to introduce attendees to a wide variety of methods for reducing energy costs, improving indoor air quality, improving hurricane, mold and fire resistance, and reducing insurance costs, both for remodeling existing homes and commercial buildings, and in new construction. Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) will also be there to educate attendees about energy and water saving ideas and incentive programs available.

To raise money for the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary, a full barbeque lunch has been donated by Mojo Bar-B-Que, whose restaurant is located at 1607 University Blvd. West, in Jacksonville, and soon opening a new location at 1500 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. The price for the lunch and seminar is $15.00 per person, with all proceeds going to the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (donations are tax deductible). Seating is limited, reservations are required.

SUSTAINABILITY FOR THE REST OF US

"A lot of heavy thinking is going on at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, this week, as an international group of experts has convened for the conference Rethinking Sustainable Construction 2006. While architects, engineers and planners pondered carbon-neutrality and the “triple bottom line” model of sustainability earlier today, Matt Ross kept it real for those whose names were not followed by the initials FAIA, LEED AP or Ph.D.

Closing a session called “From Florida House to Your House,” which also featured John Lambie, Steve Suau and Terry Osborn of the Florida House Institute for Sustainable Development, Ross told the attendees how to 'green the mainstream.'... "

'GREEN' REBUILDING BUSINESS STARTS IN SARASOTA

"...The partners are working with Eco-Smart Inc. to determine which green technology systems are most practical for the house. There will be elements such as solar water heating, high-efficiency appliances, high-efficiency cooling and heating systems, and superior insulation -- leading to a home that is less expensive to live in and maintain.

Upon completion, the home will be certified using Florida Green Home Designation Standards developed by the Florida Green Building Coalition Inc...."

Atas Roofing Products offers Energy Star Approved Colors
Why is a cool roof so important?
1. Staying comfortable under a dark shingle roof requires more air conditioning. That means more energy use and higher bills. Dark roofs also heat the air around them, contributing to local "heat islands" that create and intensify smog in cities. Cool roofs can reduce the heat island effect and save energy.

2. In addition to the money you save cooling your home. Energy Star Approved roofs increase the value of the property and qualify the owner for tax credits or deductions and LEED credits. To learn more, see the Presentation "COOL METAL ROOFING AND ENERGY STAR".

Water Cooled Air Conditioning Now Available for Residential as well as Commercial Applications

Homeowners can now enjoy the same benefits businesses have had for years. Eco-$mart's water cooled A/C units can be installed at prices competitive with air cooled units. Low maintenance cooling tower, high efficiency compressors and high efficiency expansion valve coils provide the optimum in high efficiency air conditioning systems. With a selection of sizes and package options, Eco-$mart can deliver the perfect water cooled air conditioning system for your home or commercial building.

 Residential Water Cooled Split Systems

Water Cooled refrigerant condenser outsite the home, sends refrigerant into an air handler / evaporator coil inside the home. Compressors and controls are in a separate box beside the refrigerant cooling tower.

 Residential Chilled Water Systems

Water-cooled condenser and heat pump outside home provides cooling and heating. Room or zone controls adjust temperature and humidity. Provides year round efficiency with one system. Excellent dehumidification!

Residential & Commercial Water Source Heat Pump

Compact cooling towers outside create lower condensing temperatures for small heat pumps inside. Heat rejected from dwelling into water loop can be run through domestic hot water to save water heating costs. A single cooling tower can serve multiple dwellings, separately metering indoor heat pump energy use for billing. Minimal energy and maintenance, appropriate for shared central operations fees.
