Our Coconut Palm Carpentry Wood comes from plantation grown coconut palms, which are in abundance throughout much of the world. Palms produce nuts for up to 80 years, then non-producing palms are removed and replaced. Coconut palm lumber can vary greatly in color and density. We use only the hard, dark palm for a luxurious and durable surface.

As the rainforest continues to be tapped for timber needs, coconut palms have been an overlooked and under-utilized resource. We hope that through our work, palmwood will one day be recognized as a valuable building resource and help reduce rainforest harvesting.

Unfinished Plywood: ~ 3/4" x 30" x 72" ~ 3/4" x 48" x 96" Janka Ball Hardness Tested to 1400psi. (red oak 1290 psi, hard maple 1450 psi) Palmwood is more stable than oak or maple. Low VOC Adhesives used in manufacture. Coconut Palm Plywood is perfect for cabinetry, and is comparable to other hardwoods in workablilty and finishing.
